So with waiting on the new USC charges to come into play for 2015 . I distinctly remember the Führer Enda Kenny informing us will have some extra in our pay packet come 2015 after the last budget.
So i received my payslip for january this month and it shows I'm now paying an extra almost €20 USC more than i did in 2014 and also an extra €5 paye.
Now taxation is something I know little about but was this another lie spun to us or can anyone explain why I'm paying more rather than less.
According to the company accountant last year my USC was capped at 4% and this year it is not which is why it has increased.
So was it a downright lie from the Fuhrer?

Did you have a medical card at any stage last year which you don't anymore? If so you would have been capped (rightly) at 4% USC while now you are further exposed.

    Hi,

can anyone help me with some advice? In 2013 I earned c 65k but I had a medical card for a condition I suffer from. I only had the card up until June that year but I think I was charged full USC. After reading the documentation from revenue I am still unsure of what rated I should have paid that year. Anyone know if this is correct ?

    thanks

    SS

yeah thats it, you only have to have a medical card for part of a year to get the reduced rate for the year.

Did you have full medical card or gp only card? Did you inform your employer that you had the medical card? If you have been overcharged USC you will get A refund.

it was a full medical card, but I'm not sure if the salary being greater than 60 was show stopper or is it just the amount over 60 that would be liable for the higher rate?

    thanks again
