    Hi all,

As the 6N looms its lofty head once more, the mod team understand that tempers may fray as the debate gets heated.

To improve the quality of posting and not to drive away other posters due to tedious arguments we will be operating with a zero tolerance policy, that is to say where we might have issued on thread warnings we will now be handing out straight yellow or red cards and bans where we deem necessary. Consider this your warning.

As usual, use common sense, and consider your fellow posters before posting. Not everyone wants to listen to you defend your beloved provincial player for 6 pages, and in turn don't be so thin skinned when someone champions a player. Things like that, it's just common sense - why bother starting an argument when there isn't one there in the first place? The forum is here for your enjoyment, so please don't spoil everyone else's enjoyment.

To put it in black and white, all charter laws will be imposed strictly. Particularly the following rules:
    DISCUSSION RULES
    • This is a Rugby Discussion Forum, please try to remember that different people will have different opinions. Just because someone has an opinion different to yours doesn't mean they are trolling. At the same time, please try to refrain from posting one line posts stating "Player X is crap". Do try to give reasons and stimulate discussion.
    TROLLING
    • Trolling (deliberately trying to provoke other posters) is a bannable offence.
    ABUSE
    • Personal abuse against other posters, racism etc. will lead to bannings, there is no need for it, so don’t do it. Furthermore abuse of players and/or Pundits and Commentators will result in bans/infractions. Calling players and/or Pundits and Commentators derogatory names is not tolerated on this rugby forum.
    DON'T BE A DICK
    • Stupidity is a bannable offence. Further to this, there is a general Boards.ie rule, the all encompassing "Don't be a Dick" rule. So, just don't be a dick.
    MATCH-DAY STREAMS
    • DO NOT post illegal match-day streams. Furthermore, current legislation in Ireland makes it illegal to host information on how to by-pass copyrighted material, as all media coverage would be control by others, threads/posts asking for information on how to circumvent geo-locking or encryption services will be deleted or locked.
    ANTHEMS
    • Moaning about the "Anthems" will result in a ban....This has been discussed to death and only results in flame wars.
    BACK SEAT MODDING
    • Back Seat Modding is a bannable offence. Do not call anyone a troll. Do not tell someone to stop posting. Do not say that you are reporting a post. Do not Back Seat Mod. If a post breaks any point of this charter, use the report post icon report.gif , and let the mods know. We will deal with it as we see fit.

    SPECIAL SECTION - Leinster/Munster

On this forum there is a fair bit of natural tribalism. We are not against that, it's very good and part of the game. Unfortunately, some people don't know how to handle it. constant arguing, bickering, bitching etc will result in bans. If a thread is pulled off topic by this behaviour all participants will be banned. Instead of getting involved and getting banned, report the posts.

And remember, debate the post, not the poster.

    Thanks,
    The Rugby Mod Team

Mods will really have to give warnings though,Coming out with Straight infractions isn't The Best way to deal with Things really and will probably just restrict The conversation to The usual "Nice pass" "good kick" comments. If there's discussion rolling on i don't think it should be closed down for mentioning a player or team, after all there is high relevance between The provincial clubs and The national team.

Maybe have a match thread that is heavily moderated and then an analysis thread with a lighter hand for each specific match so that discussion Can flow without affecting The match thread itself.

Thanks for the feedback CS, however this isn't really up for discussion. We've been around for many of these tournaments and we know what works and what doesn't.

We won't be restricting the conversation anymore than usual, we shouldn't have to offer warnings, the offenders know who they are and we are probably too lenient on them for the sake of being lenient during the non-international windows. Being lenient during this windows just leads to a cluster-f**k.

Which also reminds me, if anyone has any problems with the moderation please PM us rather than taking the thread off-topic and we will discuss or advise where to go for feedback.

Thread closed, but the above stands - pm any of the us anytime if wish to discuss.

If you have continued issues with any posters please put them on your ignore list and ACTUALLY ignore them. Some people seem to have an issue with a few certain posters and rather then ignore or report their posts they seem to think it is ok to have pot shots at them. IT ISN'T OK. So going forward ignore the users if you have an issue with them or you will be infracted or banned.
