    Hi All,

I am completely new to the world of au pairs and just wondering where I might start, what things I should look out for/be aware of, etc...
I have heard people recommend au pair world website is good. Would anybody have any other recommendations?

Have people experience with live in/live out au pairs?

I am just starting out my research and was looking to see people's experiences both good and bad.

    Thank You

Consider using an agency based in Ireland, you will have a local contact to help make arrangements and to help resolve any problems that might crop up.

As well as specialised au-pair agencies, some English language schools operate au-pair programmes where the au-pair will attend classes while they are in Ireland, this can introduce the au-pair to a group of people in a similar situation and give them a social circle of potential friends while they are here.

We are on our second, week into the second. Got both on aupair world.net. It's been a positive experience overall so far.

We have 3 children, 7,4 and 2. Oldest in school until 2.30 each day, we also put the two younger in creche mornings, so the aupair only needs to walk oldest to school in morning, and from 1.30 to 5.30 each day, collect and entertain.

We have always looked for one that can drive, so generally we look for someone over 25 with full eu licence, (our insurance allows them to drive on open drive policy)

You need to decide upfront what you expect / want them to do.
