    Hi all.

Parked up from 6pm yesterday evening on Heytesbury Street (off Camden Row).

    The signage was as below:

So I took this as the clearway ending at the double yellow, and then the regular parking sign starting as it was pointing to the right with the single yellow on the sign and on the road.

Came out and I was clamped. €80 fine, and had to wait over an hour for the guys to arrive after a full day of work and three hours of college in the evening.

I know now that the clearway was in effect (I was clamped at 6.15pm), but is it just me or is the signage somewhat contradictory? Why is parking allowed from 4pm-7pm, but cannot be used due to the clearway being in effect until 7pm?

Not sure if its just me being dense, but it doesn't seem the clearest signage.

    Clearway trumps everything else.

It means between 7pm and 7am you can park on the single yellow line.Outside of the clearway times, you may stop on the single yellow to load/unload.In the clearway times you may not park or unload.

I saw your clamped car. And thought serves your right.

Maybe try parking closer to the curb if parking there again (After 7PM of course).
Your car was miles out from it.
Because of your parking it was impossible for two cars to pass. Which in turn caused a back up right back down the road.

    Cheers for the clarification.

Cause him moving in six inches is going to change anything?

Are you the sort of rubbish driver that doesn't give proper clearing to parked vehicles and ends up knocking out wing mirrors and then driving on?

If two cars couldn't get by, then drivers on the left lane give way until it's clear. Assuming you give the proper clearance to parked vehicles.
