40mm plus bauhaus

hi guys

I'm interested in a dress watch to replace my rodina bauhaus white face which a found a little small

I have 7.25 inch wrists and the 38mm case just looked slightly off.

does anyone have a suggestion for a reasonably priced alternative to the rodina(albeit i know it wont touch the rodina for price)

just so we're clear i'd highly recommend the rodina and thought it was a well made item and have given it to my brother who is slightly smaller but i prefer a slightly bigger watch. He Loves it though.

i've looked at th junkers bauhaus and the stowa antea but the junkers have more dials and the stowa is both pricey from what ive seen and still is a bit small

all suggestions welcome!!

Braun and Mondaine come to mind, but I don't know if they're quite what you're looking for. Quick google threw this up, but no idea what they're like (a sterile dial would have looked much better too). Zeno maybe?

Have you sampled any of the modern Ruhlas Peasant? Was thinking of getting one of these myself but wondered whether the finish was up to scratch, so to speak.

Nope, have no personal experience with them.

But I do own a Junkers Chrono that was manufactured by Garde/Ruhla and the finish is fine. My father has a Zeppelin dresswatch (also made there) he's also very happy with.

Based on that I'd buy a Ruhla tomorrow ...if it wasn't quartz. (The few mechanical models they have are not quite to my liking)

thanks for the suggestions the max bill is such a pretty watch but into grail territory and i'd probably save and go the speedmaster route at the sort of pricetag.

i was hoping for a mechanical one given the price, something tells me itll be a junkers!

The Zeno is mechanical, there is a quartz version available alright but the nice one is mechanical. And that Panzera is also mechanical.
