Don't know a whole lot about pcs but just telling you what people have told me in the past

4690k get rid of it unless you're planning to overclock

and you mentioned getting 8gb ram twice? so 16gb unless I read it wrong,
anyhow you only need 8gb ram anymore is pointless for a gaming pc

Like I said I don't know a whole lot so maybe someone can confirm these things and give you better advice :)

ps dark souls on pc is bigger and better community :D good luck bro

Its a 4gb stick but I'm getting it twice so 8gb, which i said very stupidly above.

I will be planning to OC, I'll add that! thanks for reminding me

Is it bad I own it on PC and PS3? :o

For overclocking a z97 is better mobo.

Case get the nanoxia deep silence 3 better than the corsair one 3 or 4 euro more expensive.

Get a be quiet 7 500 w think 51.81.. That corsair one I think only has 2 6pin pci express. Which may hold you back for a bigger card. For the sake of a few euro.

Try get a gigabyte gtx 760 think 188 euro.

I think you have priorities a bit skewed, a regular i5-4460 or similar will cost a lot less, allowing you to buy something like an R9 280X.

That would be a much more balanced system and would play games far better than a 4690k and a 270x.

No need for an overclockable cpu on that budget in my opinion.

You could get the crucal ballistic sport Ram for 65. Same diff really.

Thanks for the advice guys, so would an R9 280X or GTX 760 be preferable, considering I'm willing to lower the CPU on TerrorFirmers advice

I'd go for the R9 myself, the extra 1gb of VRAM could make a difference. I've a R9 270x (2gb) and newer games will push it to the limits. Although I know it's not like for like with Nvidia and AMD, I'd still expect to get better performance from the R9 280x.

Turns out the R9 280X was the first card I had looked at buying but I figured 3gb would be overkill on a single screen set up. l'll add it to the build and see how it comes out

77 is the lowest I can find that for?

    Did you use geizhals.de?

    With a
    z97
    i5 4460
    bequiet 7 500W
    nanoxia case
crucial ballistix 8gb ram i had im looking at €448 total, meaning either graphics card from gigabyte will keep me inside my budget. If i choose the cheaper one I'll simply add another SSD anyways, so what do you guys think?

I was certain I did but no. Thank you

The r9 280X is a much better card than the GTX760. It's more or less on-par with the GTX770.

    Also you won't need a z97 mobo with a i5 4460 as you can't over clock it. Get a h97 instead.

I had figured this, thanks though. I'm sure I can OC just to a lesser extend if I feel the need

You can't overclock unless it's a K processor. Go with the 280x and the standard i5 for that budget. Alternatively check Amazon for deals. Some great ones floating around.

Ah that's a bit crap, I didn't know that was the case at all.

Any recommendations for the brand of the GPU? The gigabyte ones didn't go down too well on Newegg, I have a sapphire one chosen, as my 7770 from them has been solid. I would think with the known brands there's not much difference anyways

People are way too obsessed about overclocking. In pretty much 95% of the builds proposed around here, the GPU is the bottleneck, not the CPU. Overclocking i5 processors is generally for enthusiasts looking to squeeze out extra performance on an already high-end system. It makes zero difference to most builds that cross these forums, including this one.
