Mother diagnosed with tongue cancer today. She told us the lump was cyst.Surgery on Tue. I discovered she was telling us the whole story after i got answers from the doc. Info'd brother and sister. But my mother has requested i dont tell my other brother in Oz. He was jus home at xmas after 2.5 years abroad but now back down under. So my question is do we info our brother or respect mothers wishes? My thots at the moment are not to say anything as the op is unlikely to be immediately life threatning and mayb wait till afterwards. Loss of full speech is likely and radiothearpy is a possibilty.

Hi, I had stage 3 tumour on my tongue removed 2 years ago & 6 weeks of radio therapy so my heart goes out to your mum. My advice would be to respect your mums wishes, there is nothing your brother can do so far away. Leave it until after surgery and see then.

Please feel free to ask any questions.

    😊
