Can anyone tell me where the photocell is located on a Firebird 120 Popular oil boiler. I'm having ignition problems and I want to see if the photocell needs a clean.

Its on the burner, remove case on burner, it would then depend on type of burner ?????

Attached to the front of the grey control box, remove box if its older model Riello.

1" to the right of black control box if it's newer RDB Model.

Found it thanks. This video showed me how to take the box off and find it. http://youtu.be/tPgOQDV7MFI

Cleaned it off it was covered in soot. Came on straight away so hopefully it'll work on the timer in the morning.

Well done, you should still get it serviced, soot on the photocell is a sign the the flame is not burning correctly and the inside of the boiler is covered in soot so the efficiency of the boiler will be not good.A proper service with a flue gas analyser will pay for itself
