    I have a marathon pb of 2.57
Today I went out with a plan of running 1 mile x 6.20 than 1 mile x 7.20 and keep repeating.
I kept repeating that until the 8th mile where I ran 3 at 6.20 than 1 x 7.20 than the same again.
After 16 miles it workout 16 x 6.38 pace and I felt good and could keep it going to marathon distance and run a pb.
Im sure if I went out and ran every mile x 6.38 pace I woulnt of felt as good.
Anyone ever try something like this in a marathon.

    I was only messing :pac:

Your PB is from 2010. You probably just faster. Negative split is always best I've heard.

RE:"I like to try different stuff" I know ;)

Very good question, but your human is a terribly conservative beast by nature. We just need 10 or so mad bastids to try out a few alternative strategies.

    You go first!

Btw, good luck with the smallie.

    Congrats on the new born.

You say that now, but at 3am when 1 eye is open and the other won't open don't think you will get out for a run.

Tried a different approach yesterday haha even pace.
    Managed 18 miles x 6.37 pace.
Was chatting to a mate of mine that's going for a 2.54 marathon and he nearly swallowed his tongue last night when I told him.
Reason why is hes doing some crazy speedwork 3 times a week and ive done one session since 2013 but I would believe I could run the same time within the next week or two.
I usually do things against the grain and just find it interesting that we are doing totally different things but could get the same result.
