    Hi,
hope someone can help. Where can I get an x ray done to check whats wrong with y teeth.?
Just back from dentist a little while ago. Need two fillings but can't get any work done as have an infection that will see me start a third course of antibiotics this evening. Jaw also clicks and is very sore.
A little bit worried now that it is taking so long to heal and it is not the first time have been in this position over the years.
Spoke with my dentist about getting an x ray or blood tests to investigate. Although she did refer me to someone who could do the x ray they have no appointments until late February. Anybody able to recommend a dentist in Dublin area or somewhere else I could try please pm.

Why cant you get your dental work done? What sort of X-ray do you need that requires a referral? is it a CT scan? Do you need to see an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth? What place cannot see a patient until late February for a painful emergency?

Think we need more details to be of any use

Dentist is reluctant to do the fillings with the infection still there. It's quite bad at the moment.
The x ray is to get an overview of the whole Jaw and not just individual teeth if that makes sense. Like that long picture showing all the teeth at the same time.
The smaller x ray(bite down kind???) was showing nothing. However due to the recurrence and severity of the infection she thought a more thorough investigation might not be a bad idea.
Plus the clicking and pain in the jaw hinge has me driven crazy tbh. At the stage now just need to get it sorted. She was my second opinion dentist as well.
    Wisdom teeth are gone years.
Blood test was just a suggestion to see if anything else is going on. I am aware sore teeth can be a symptom of other things.
I'm not sure what other kind of detail you might need tbh but please feel free to ask. Not a CT scan type of thing just one of the whole jaw to get an opinion/view of whats going on. Check damage to roots, where the infection is coming from, cyst around a tooth etc. Does that make sense?

OP sounds like an OPG / Panoramic X-ray / OPT about 80% of dentists have this machine, it takes about 5 minutes to take. I don't know why you would have to wait for a month for it.

Month wait is probably for appointment with an OS, OP do you have a medical card? Is the delay due to public waiting list? If you have the means to go private then you may be seen a lot sooner.
