Samsung Galaxy S4 phone restricted on AT&T

    Hi,
I am not sure where to post this query. I have a sim free phone, with a 3 sim card and I was in the USA for Christmas. The carrier to use is AT&T. When I tried to use my phone, I get the letter R over the signal strength bars. I was told by AT&T that my phone is restricted. I called 3 from there, and other than being ok for roaming, they could not help me.

Does anyone in this forum have any idea as to wht I cannot make or receive calls while in the USA? I can call Ireland and my phone does work in the UK. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    That R stands for roaming.
Have you set up roaming with 3 while you will be in the states ?

Hi, Thanks for that. I have been told by 3 that I am set up for roaming. I have tried 001 and the number and it still does not work, like I was dialling from Ireland. When i called a number while I was in the USA, AT&T operator got on the phone and told me that the number I was calling from was showing as restricted. Does this sound like an issue with not being set up for roaming eve though three told me I was?
