Splitting the signal.

Sorry to bother ye folks.

I have an outside aerial and I would like to split the signal at, or as close to that aerial as possible, to facilitate the running of a second cable to a different part of the house.
Is this feasible at all and if so would there be much signal loss?

The feasibility of passive splitting will depend on what the signal level is to begin with, & the no. of splits you want to make.

Amplifiers can be installed outside if needed, with power being sent up the aerial cable from an indoor power supply unit.

The Saorview signal is fairly good around most of the country so as said depending on your location you might get away with splitting with a passive splitter. I would recommend splitting the aerial feed inside if possible, attic or elsewhere with a standard distribution amp. Easier to work with and the split is protected from the weather.
