JSA missed payments

Hi, I went down to my local office last week to inquire about the status of my JSA claim. The lady in reception was surprised because I had no open claims. Turns out my JSA had been approved already without my knowledge. They must have forgot to send me a letter about it. The guy I talked to said they backdated my payment to the 17th of November (I applied on the 14th) and that I've already missed 5 or 6 payments.

He said, he will sort out my payment for next friday (this coming friday). I just got a letter this morning that it will indeed be in the post office on Friday the 23rd. But it's a handwritten letter with no specifics about how much I'll be receiving and for how many weeks worth of payment.

My question is, am I still entitled to get the payments that I missed through no fault of my own (from 17th November onwards) or is the payments forfeit because I missed them ? If I am entitled, how many weeks worth of payment should I expect to receive ? Counting from the 17th of November until this coming Friday, is it 10 weeks ?
