    Hi,

My friend had an outstanding bill 6 years ago with a phone company. It was not paid so she was disconnected. The line has not been used since. She would now like to set up a broadband connection using this line, does anyone know if she will have to pay the outstanding balance after such a long period of time? It would be the same company who she would like to get broadband with.

    Please and thanks!

She'd be far better off going to another provider.

Even if she could show that the debt was statute barred, the utility company could and would still refuse to provide her with their services because of her poor credit history with them.
