Adding cylinder thermostatic valve...

    Hi
My cylinder does not have thermostatic valve installed and because my shower pump is rated up to 65 degrees Celsius I have to limit this using the boiler and this in turn limits the water temperature that goes into the radiators.

Hot feed from boiler goes to the coil in the cylinder and to the rads. There is a motorized valve to control rads but nothing to control cylinder temp.

My question is: Can I just cut the hot feed pipe to the coil and install the thermostat there (and sensor on the cylinder) ? What will happen when both thermostat and radiator valve will close ? Water will have nowhere to go, would this not damage the boiler ? Should I join feed and return just before the thermostat so water can circulate when both valves are closed ?

Can someone explain this to me a bit? M I thinking right ?

I have sketched my system roughly to illustrate it a bit (just copy link below and paste in your browser)

Yellow line is the joint I'm talking about

You can improve hot water controllability by fitting something like a cytrol valve but I'd add in a automatic bypass to allow movement when the valves shut down.

That's what I was thinking that I need some sort of bypass but I did not know I can get automatic valve for this, well now I know and can head to Chadwick's for some supplies.

    thanks
