Family Camping holiday in Italy

    Hi all,

Hoping for some help and suggestions for a family campsite location in Italy this summer.

Ideally looking for direct flights from Dublin. Happy to rent a car if needed. Would like to be walking distance to a beach. Would want to stay in a cabin rather than a tent.

Last year we went to a Yelloh campsite in France. Was great for the kids, but maybe a bit big and busy for us!

    All suggestions appreciated!

    Thanks.

We're flying into Pisa in early July (got a great deal with Ryanair for 4 of us before Xmas), hiring a car and driving about an hour south to spend a week at Park Albatros, near Piombino. We booked with Eurocamp (20% discount up until the end of January).

We'll then spend another week up near Lucca in an apartment for a change of pace. Norcenni Girasole near Florence also gets good reviews if you don't mind being away from the coast.

    I love Italy!

    Would you try an "agriturismo"?

Some beautiful places and some of them are fairly reasonably priced.

Would highly recommend the area near Venice, we will be going for our fourth holiday there this year. It has lots of campsites which can be booked through eurocamp and canvas, most sites have their own beach and there is no need to hire a car as bus links from airport to campsites are cheap and easy to negotiate. It is only a short ferry trip into Venice and also the water park in jesolo is a great day out.

Try Union Lido outside Venice. We found it fab. It's on the beach. Aer lingus to Venice then bus to the door. You do need to change buses once.
