Here's a thread to make you feel old!

What does Rammstein's Herzeleid, Fear Factory's Demanufacture, Marylin Manson's Smells Like Children, Faith No More's King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime, Alice In Chains' self titled and Strapping Young Lad's Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing all have in common?

They turn 20 this year!

1995 was a hell of a year, that's for sure. What are your favourites from that year?

Blind Guardian's - Imaginations from the Other Side immediately comes to mind

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Youthanasia by Megadeth was released in November 1994, so it's just gone 20, it is one of the most overlooked metal albums ever released.

God, I can't believe some of these albums are 20 years old. I remember King for a Day being released like it was yesterday. Where are the years gone to?

Anyone here at Donnington that year? It was such a great summer.

Looking at those albums from 20 years ago to me proves that 1992 was the end of the greatest phase of metal ever. Probably form the early 80's onwards.

Most of what is mentioned is either 1)Not metal or 2)Rubbish.

I feel that metal got more diverse in the past 20 years. Also this thread is not about metal albums.

Yup, rock albums in a forum for rock and metal, imagine that.

Strange that it's 20 years since Kyuss' last album, of all the bands I'd love to see reform.

I was hoping Rammstein would release a 20th Anniversary edition of Herzeleid with remastered tracks and rare stuff, b-sides etc :(

I think Prodigy's Music for the Jilted Generation is 20 years old too, possibly 21.

Whilst 1992 was the year that 'grunge' and alternative truly entered the mainstream and pushed metal to the sidelines, there were still some good metal albums released in the mid 90's...

Pantera - Far Beyond Driven and The Great Southern Trendkill
Machine Head - Burn My Eyes
    Sepultura - Chaos A.D.
Type O Negative - October Rust
    Corrosion Of Conformity - Wiseblood

    To name a few

Alice In Chains' self-titled album (and their last album to feature Layne Staley on vocals)

Also, Mad Season's only album 'Alone' which features Layne on vocals.

Can't believe I forgot about this one, amazing album.
They're doing a sort of reunion gig tomorrow in Seattle, with Chris Cornell on vocals and Duff McKagan on bass. Hopefully it pops up on youtube, should be pretty cool.

Radiohead's The Bends is another one. My favourite track was the result of a competition to make a song with as many chord changes as possible ...

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Within the band, I meant.

Another important album of 1995: THRAK by King Crimson.

Honourable Mention: A Change Of Seasons by Dream Theater.
