Opinion needed on shoes - cleat

I have two sets of Time pedals (approximately 93) using look pedals at the moment but they never agreed with my knees. I want to go back to the Time pedals and specifically four hole shoes for a lower stack height.

I picked up a pair of DMT Prisma 2.0 that are for Speedplay pedals so same four hole spacing as the time cleats. No problems setting them up but wondering about the stress element of using the carbon sole as load bearing along with the metal fittings underneath

If its not going to fly with this pedal then I will give the speedplay zero pedals a try

if you could make a thin stainless steel shim the size of the footprint of where the cleat/holes are housed and out under the cleats...it would spread weight and support...a good metal fabricator would do in minutes to the outline of the shoe pad..drill...fit...done

Grand, I can get the stainless steel wear plate for the speedplay cleats and that should do the job.

    Thanks

An update on the shoes, I put the plastic plate that came with the cleats on and it works a charm. Much more comfortable for me than the look pedals

What's the reason for your preference out of curiosity?
    More float?

    Brilliant - that's a great work around!

I used to use that type of time pedal years ago, and now i use speedplay, but it never even occurred to me to try that.

Yeah, they have a lateral float aswell as the usual horizontal float. Much kinder to my knees than look pedals. Never had a carbon sole with the older time shoes either
