Loss of power after making turn?

I'm experiencing a loss of power if I accelerate hard after making a turn, particularly in second gear . Driving a 2006 vw golf 1.6 petrol. I initially thought it was the traction control kicking in because of the ice on the roads but there's no light coming up on the dash during the power loss, and it also occurs if ASR is turned off. The engine doesn't cut out it just loses power and then it kicks back in a second later. Anyone be able to help identify the problem? Thanks

Not sure if this makes a difference but it doesn't occur if I have more than a quarter tank of petrol in the car. Could it just be a fault fuel pump?

Try to scan it for errors, before guessing.

Could be many things. Evap canister purge, fuel pressure, egr, or it could be some sort of electrical problem.

Get the error codes and take it from there.
