    Hi all,
Have a question someone maybe able to help. I have connected up a second TV to my sky box and I cannot receive sky. On my new tv (sony Bravia) I have 2 coax cables connected. 1 from aerial in attic going to antenna port, and the other cable coming from the RF2 port at the back of the Sky+HD box going to satellite port on back of TV. I have the RF2 port switched on in the settings and pressed green button to save on sky box. I double checked all connections and with a multi meter am receiving 9v DC at TV. When I search on new tv I am only picking up channels coming in free (RTE) etc on the aerial. Checked the net and Sky isn't on channel 68 as someone suggested.
    Anyone any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

You will need to tune the tv using the atv feature on your sony tv in order to find the sky box, when you find it, if its is snowy you may need to change the frequency you have it set to currently 68 etc.

You will tune the saorview on the tv using the dtv menu, on some sony tvs there is a button near the top left to switch back between the analog and digital tuners.

Thanks for response. I am making some progress. When i search in Analogue I couldn't pick anything up. But when I swapped the cables at the back of TV around and searched again I then found my Sky. But now when I do a digital search I cannot find my channels on aerial.
The layout now is, the cable from sky box is plugged into the port of the new TV with the symbol ] [ And the aerial cable is plugged into the port marked 13-19v with a satellite symbol.
Having the sky on analogue when I change the TV back to digital and search for channels using full digital search, nothing found.
The cables before the swap would only pick up the aerial channels.
To me it looks like the TV is only picking up input from the port marked ][

The signal from RF2 has to go to the TV's antenna port too, along with the Saorview (or any terrestrial TV) signal, as you seem to have discovered.

The satellite port is (obviously) for connection to a satellite dish.

If there is a feed from the Saorview aerial available at the Sky box location, plug this aerial into the Sky box aerial-in, & the Saorview signal will also be carried on the cable from RF2. Otherwise, you will need a separate combiner for the Saorview & RF2 signal.

Re. 'RF2 port switched on': this is just for the 9 volt supply for 'magic eyes' & amplifiers, doesn't need to be on if you don't have these.

The 13/19v satellite port is for a connection from a satellite dish: the voltage is to power the LNB, & the tuner is for the intermediate frequency (IF) output by the LNB. It is for receiving satellite broadcasts only, & there is NO point whatsoever having the aerial plugged into it.

The ][ port is for signals in the frequency band that includes Saorview & the RF output from the Skybox.

If you want Saorview combined with RF2 at this TV, you will need to do as I outlined in post #4.

You need to bring the saorview connection to the input of the skybox or I/o link. You will then send the rf2 output of the skybox to thr secondary room or amplifier. The obe cable will then carry both the saorview n sky signal down the one cable as explained earlier by Thurston.
