I'll be starting NUIG in September, after deferring this year, and I was just wondering if anyone here had registered with the disability services because of an ongoing illness and what kind of help they provide?

They've given me great support, I've extra time to take my exams, things like that. Register when you start and you'll get sorted

The support you receive will vary depending on what your personal circumstances are, availability of the support you may require etc
They've helped me a lot. Extra time in exams, do exams in different exam centre, gave me extra money for printing account in the college...

I had problems with one subject and they provided me with an educational support worker who gave me a few free grinds. They're very friendly and will help you in any way they can. They also send out a LENS (cant think of what that stands for but it's basically a list of needs you have) to each lecturer and make your lecturers aware that you may encounter some difficulties.
