Best Pick up Truck ? Value for money

I have a transit van and an estate car. I want to sell them and get a pick up with a Truckman hardtop.

If I could afford to run one, my first choice is the 5.9 litre, 400hp Dodge Ram, which seems in a different league then anything else. I saw one pull a jack-knifed 50 tonne juggernaut out of a ditch in snow and ice, that's the kind of power its got.

Realistically I'm looking at a Ford Ranger or a Mitsubishi L200/Warrior. I don't want to spend more then 8k.

The Toyota and VW picks ups look overpriced.

How do posters rate the Ford Ranger or LS200 ? the reviews for both read well.

I'd have a ranger any day over an l200. Those l200's are soft imo.
