Picked up two giant boxes of Finish Powerball tablets in the Applegreen garage in Lusk.

110 tablets per box for €13, pretty good value I thought

Posting a cheaper brand from a German retailer isn't a fair comparison.

It might be, if you're primarily concerned with the quality of the wash, rather than the brand.

This is a BA thread. It's not good comparing products. That's like posting a bargain car and another posting a cheaper alternative. They both do the same thing...

I'll add that we find the lidl, aldi and Tesco branded washing tablets to be very poor. In particular at lower temperatures.

Better quality from my experiments. Still have a few hundred Finish from similar deals to use before I swap over full-time but use the Magnum tabs any time its looking like a 'difficult' wash.

This using a Bosch machine with dire warnings to only use Finish on the control panel and all.

Check the GrabOne deals website, they have done special offers on finish dishwasher tablets but I'm not sure if they have one on at the minute,

From the research it looks like the Aldi tablets are actually better than the Lidl ones with 4 x 4points while the Lidl ones have 1 x 5points, 1 x 4, 1 x 3 and only 2 points for "brilliance"

Matches my personal experience basically. Also handy to have more than just one thing to buy in Aldi (McGraths Tea).

Those powerball tablets have been in my local deals for similar price for a while. I saw a smaller box (75) on offer in tesco today for 17.

Well, I'll listen when Which? give better ratings to the Aldi option. They're well versed in establishing the comparitive quality of products. No offence to your own opinion of course.

A cheaper dishwasher tablet that's been demonstrated to do better job than the more expensive brand is also a bargain.

Many people do find the finish from the "Finish" tablets to be better than that of the cheaper alternatives, my sister used to swear by a dishwasher powder available in Tesco for years, it was not the cheapest or indeed the dearest option by far but did the job on her dishes.
