Connecting flights - how much time needed in between?

    Hi there,

I am trying to book a flight from Dublin to Wellington and the best price I could find so far was 2 stops. Dublin -> Dubai -> Sydney -> Wellington. the layover time between Dubai and Sydney is 1Hour 25mins, and the layover time between Sydney to Wellington is 3hour 25mins.

Is 1hr25min enough time to get off our flight, go through security etc and catch our next flight to Sydney? We arrive in Dubai in Terminal 3 and our outward flight to Sydney is also in Terminal 3 in Dubai Airport, however I am unaware how big this terminal is, would we be pushing it for time?

I am assuming we don't see our luggage at this point and it gets transferred from each flight?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Providing your DUB -DXB flight is on time that's plenty of time in DXB. There's not far to walk and I found security fast and efficient. If you book it all on one tix your bags will be checked through to Wellington and the stopover time in Sydney is ample.

    Thanks for the speedy reply!

Yeah we are booking it through ebookers.ie The first two flights are with Emirates and the final flight to Wellington is through Qantas. All on the same ticket.
I'm assuming since I am booking it all through one ticket that the airlines think this will be enough time to make the connecting flight? i don't plan on shopping duty free or anything, i just want to get on the flight!

Yep, they don't sell tickets that are below minimum connection times and being all on one ticket if your outbound from DUB was delayed significantly you'd be booked on the next available flights instead. So, go book, relax and enjoy your trip :)
