Well, the sterling rate at present is pretty awful, so a bad time to be changing Euro to Stg.

It's bad now, but its going to get worse from next week on.

So if you have any intentions of doing it, do it before next Thursday I'd imagine.

    QE

    Correct.

Quantitive Easing. Basically the ECB is going to start printing more money to boost the economy, thus devaluing the Euro. They normally do things on Thursdays I think.

I'd buy in the UK for the higher spec and general better condition rather than trying to save money. UK spec S Lines tend to be higher spec than Irish ones.

No offence, but if you're printing money, you'd want to be setting your sights a little higher than an A4! ;)

Why? It's an ancient model at this stage.

VW Passat CC? Had one myself, they are still relatively rare on Irish roads and you should be able to buy a top spec GT model for similar money.

The days of going to UK and saving thousands are well and truly finished.

Betters spec (probable better condition of car) is only plus.

Am i right in saying that Xenon bulbs are not standard in UK also?

I'd go with the more powerful 170bhp Quartz one. More powerful engine aside my last car was black and while it was a beautiful colour every time I cleaned it, it is a high maintenance colour. Every mark shows up on it and unless you are the type who cleans their car every few days then keeping it clean will frustrate you imo.
