Can anyone help me out. My siblings and I had sold a house sale on an inherited estate for over €500k and our solicitor has to apply for a Tax Clearance Certificate. this I understand but does anyone know if he has to send cheque into Revenue or apply for certificate, (this is to check all our late fathers taxes were in order).

I can;t understand why he said he sent the cheque into the tax office for a Tax Clearance. I look for Tax clearance for people I employ but no money is given to them unless I get a letter to say stop to form their wages.

I will phone the tax office on Monday as this issue has being going on for over 4 months and he has told us lots of lies and the progress of the probate etc. I am re-reading his emails and I should have spotted this earlier.
