I have a HTC M7, really like it but due an upgrade soon.

Biggest thing I'm looking for is better camera. My better half has an M8, and it's nice, but not a massive upgrade. Screen resolution is fantastic, but otherwise not much different.

I'm not mad keen anything bigger than 5 inch, the screen size of the M7 and M8 is just about perfect for me.

A lot of reviews I've read say that the iPhone 6 has the best camera. I'm on the verge of switching from android! I had an iPhone 4 and liked it, but switched to android mainly for the bigger screen of the Galaxy S3 at the time.

I have a G Watch, so a switch to apple would be a big change. Still, that camera!

What's the consensus on the best android camera ATM? Not interested in Note sized phones, so what's the best one under say 5.2 inch?

Imp Samsung is the best camera phone. I just upgraded from the s4 mini to the full s5 and the camera is absolutely out of this world - fantastic. If anyone was trouble choosing a phone to buy. My advice would be Samsung

Vivo xshot. There's 2 versions, one with 2gb/16gb and other 3gb/32gb. Both support microsd, cheaper model is around half the price of iphone 6 and camera is most likely better. If you're after a good camera phone I'd definitely consider it.

    Thanks, both.

What's the deal with warranty and repairs if you buy from China, though?

I had a Galaxy S3 before, and swore I'd never go back to Samsung! It had the dodgy motherboard issue, and took almost 6 weeks to get repaired.

Apart from the camera, the second biggest thing I like about Apple is their fast repair services. No messing with network providers or retail outlets, just call them directly and get it done. My experience with both Samsung and HTC has been far removed from that.

That's one of the main disadvantages of buying from China but for the price you can't really complain. You get the best camera (even the selfie cam has a flash), one of the best speakers, high quality earphones, metal build for $375. Sellers give a 1 year warranty but would probably take as long as the Samsung.

First thing to remember is that most cameras use a Sony image sensor in their camera, including an iPhone. So, if you are thinking a camera in one phone is better than in a Sony, its worth checking out who makes its image sensor.

Another thing to remember is the processing ability of the camera phone. Cheap phones have poor processing programs leaving you with poorer pictures. However, with Android lollipop, you will be able to save raw images to your phone (remember you can use your sd cards again with lollipop so plenty of room) and then use a processing program on your PC to produce the photo. At the minute, your camera phones condenses the photo somewhat for storage space.

Maybe, you knew that already, but just in case, thought I would throw it out there!
