No Tax Nct

Is no tax at NCT a fail? Just realised my tax runs out start of Feb & NCT is 3 wks after. Didn't plan to hold onto car if it fails the test.

Certainly wasn't a year ago anyway as mine was out unless new rules have come in, brought proof with me that I had renewed it online but just hadn't got the cert yet, they were totally uninterested said it didn't matter to them.

Actually mine had been out a few weeks at the time, renewal came over Christmas and I had just forgotten to do it, only noticed the tax disc when I was washing car day before NCT.
