    Hi all

My wife and I are considering going here for a beach holiday for 2 weeks in June. Would really love to hear peoples opinion on the area and what it's like? Is there much to do, any sightseeing? Restaurants, days trips etc.? Any recommendations on hotels to stay in is also appreciated?

Is a package deal the way to go or book flights and accommodation ourselves?

Would anyone know if would be possible to get a train to/from Florence to the Lido Di Jesolo area and how long would that take?

    Thanks in advance :)

Considering that it is on the door of Venice, there is plenty of sightseeing without going all the way to Florence, places like Padua or go to Verona.

Short answer, yes but as advised above, there are places closer to Venice that are also worth checking out. Florence is pretty full all year round, every art student the world over seems to go there as a form of pilgrimage.

There is a decent map of the national rail network at the link below, you'll see that you can get from Venice to Florence via Bologna so there should be plenty of trains to choose from.

You can fill in a trip to see what options there are, the main railway station in Venice is 'Venezia Mestre' and the Italian name for Florence is 'Firenze'.

Cheers for the feedback guys. The train journey is no longer of importance. We have a booked a 2 week holiday in Lido Di Jesolo in June and would like to hear from anyone who has stayed there before. What is the place like? Any tips on places to eat, sights worth seeing?
