I've got a feeling this is a majorly stupid question, but it's wrecking my head!

We got a new Horizon box, and so a new password to go with it. The connection still has the same name, so I thought all I would have to do would be enter the new password and I'd be away.

However, my laptop is automatically connecting with the old password, and I can't see a place to enter a new one. I tried removing the connection so that I could add it again, but no joy.

It's a dell laptop, about 5 years old. I don't know if you need any more details but I would be eternally grateful if anyone has any ideas!

Go to start then control pannel and internet options . You should see your old connecting here and click on it there should be a option to forget this network. Then there should be a option to mannage a new connection tab click it and enter your new password . Hope this helps

Gah sorry, maybe I should have posted this in the Wireless forum? Apologies and feel free to move if so!

If you are on Win7, there should be an icon near your clock, in the "System Tray". Click that and it should show available networks. Choose one and click Connect

Thanks bonzodog- the problem is not finding the connection tho, it's that when I click on it (as you say) it automatically tries to log in with my old password.

I'm trying to find a way to change the password.

    Hey,

If your laptop can’t connect to the Internet after configuring the router, try disabling any firewalls you have running. You can also try rebooting all devices. This will often fix DHCP and DNS issues. Power down the laptop, unplug the router and modem, then slowly power each up in reverse order. If you still cannot connect to the Internet and have confirmed the router and laptop are setup properly, you can try bypassing the router and plug directly into the modem (if they are separate). If you can’t connect either wired or wireless, you should contact your ISP for further assistance.

It should only do this if you have the same SSID network name. Go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Manage Wireless Networks and remove the connection profile, then add the new one

Yep, for some reason it has the same network name. I removed the profile and thought I could set it up again from scratch but it didn't work :(

Thanks Jeffie, I'll try this when I get home!
