Anyone know a good E.N.T in Cork?

As above can anyone tell me the name of a good Ear, Nose and Throat specialist in the cork city area preferably?

Have a problem with my tonsils they never recovered properly after a bad bout of tonsilitis which i went to my doctor about first over a year ago who said he booked me an appointment with an E.N.T.But i still haven't been seen or even contacted about an appointment even tho I stressed to him to him how much I'm suffering and feel choked up all the time and lately it's gotten really bad so i can't wait any longer.


So I'm looking for someone i can ring and get an appointment with in the next week or so.

Doesn't matter if you have his name or not- you'll need a referral from a gp - so go back to your gp's receptionist - tell her your still waiting and not putting up with it - And ask her to find out who has what waiting list ;(because you can't )- and book you In, if she won't change practice

Oh really didn't know that i was hoping there was just a few doctors around that specialise in that or something.But ya i can't see much being done if i go back down there to be honest but I'll try again and if not i'll take your advise and change gp's.thanks for info really appreciate it

Try Tom O Leary in the South Terrace apartments, ring his clinic, his secetary will tell you whether you need a referral or not. 021-4319191.

I had bad sinus problems and over the course of a couple of years saw probably most of the ENT Consultants in Cork. Agree with above poster that it's highly unlikely that any of them will see you without a GP referral. If you do get that, I would recommend that you give it a couple of days for the referral letter to reach the consultant. Then, ring their secretary and push for the earliest appt. If you still get a date too far away, nicely advise that you'll call again in a few days to see if any cancellation has come up. If you don't get proactive, you are another number who may not get a date for weeks/months..

Of all those that I did see, I would rate Charlie Shinkwin (based on the Lee road) or Peter O' Sullivan (near South Terrace) the highest.
