The classes would cover everything from downloading apps to answering calls etc. Just looking for advice on where do u think tje best location for elderly people would be I was thinking local library also cost wise or any input appreciated

I'd say a library might be good. You could contact some of the local OAP associations too, they tend to run classes so they might be willing to pay you and put your class into their schedule.Westside seems to have quite a lot of community classes too that attract older people. The Galway boards forum might have some info for you.
I think it's an excellent idea though, particularly if you could maybe get a discount on phones for your students as you work in vodafone!

2 things I've noticed are important for older people are that the screen is plenty big and that you install a launcher with large text. Also the flash light widget is a useful personal safety feature for them and encouraging them to get a phone with an fm radio on it is important too. I only just realised that this evening watching the news when I saw an elderly man saying he'd gone out in the storm to buy batteries for a radio because he was without elec and didn't know when power would be restored or what was going on without his radio.

One of the first things to recommend to them is a Launcher.
For example, Nectar launcher or Large Launcher are only two of many launchers.
I think phone companies should definitely recommend more launchers for their users, as many people find pages of app lists confusing, especially when your eye sight is deteriorating.
