Car running costs UK vs Ireland

I've been asked to look into this as my company is putting us onto a monthly car allowance as we use our own cars for business use.

It's looking like a complex task to work it all out - would anyone know if there is any data out there which would indicate in general terms comparative ownership & running cost differences between the UK and here?

Really just looking for a ballpark percentage difference.

Would it not be easier to find out what typical car allowances are? €400 per month plus a fuel card and company cover for carriage of tools/equipment was the deal last time I had a car allowance although that's a few years back.

I think a lot of companies use the civil service rates, I would assume that means there's less risk of tax issues arising.

Not talking about cents per mile here, as will be using a fuel card. Just looking for figures for average monthly car allowance in this scenario.

Managed to find out the Accountancy sector average looks to be around 11k per annum but my sector is IT - would anyone know?
