I got an ecig back in November 12mg liquid. All fine for about 4 weeks but i did feel as if i wasnt getting enough kick from it amd then I got a constant sore throat and cold. The cold went but the sore throat stayed.
Sadly I then went back on the cigs as using the ecig was killing my throat. I tried it again the other day and back to throat being sore. I really want off the fags and im wondering if anyone else found this happening to them? Should I try a different liquid? Any advise would be great thanks.

It is possible that your sore throat is just a result of stopping smoking.

    See below from http://www.quitsmokingsupport.com/withdrawal1.htm

Withdrawal in the First Two Weeks
Because the first two weeks are so critical in determining quitting failure rates, smokers should not be shy about seeking all the help they can during this period.
Withdrawal symptoms begin as soon as four hours after the last cigarette, generally peak in intensity at three to five days, and disappear after two weeks. They include both physical and mental symptoms.
    Physical Symptoms.
During the quitting process people should consider the following physical symptoms of withdrawal as they were recuperating from a disease and treat them accordingly as they would any physical symptoms:
    • Tingling in the hands and feet
    • Sweating
    • Intestinal disorders (cramps, nausea)
    • Headache
    • Cold symptoms as the lungs begin to clear (sore throats, coughing, and other signs of colds and respiratory problem)

Drink plenty of water while vaping = vaping dehydrates you alot and lots of fluids will help you and possibly help the sore throat.

Milk is also soothing for a sore throat imo.

There are usually 4 culprits (2 are above in great detail)

    1) PG intolerance, it does happen, maybe try a liquid with move VG in it?

    2) Symptoms of quitting smoking. I had a lot of these vaping, but had them years ago quitting cold turkey: sore throat, tingles, restless, sore mouth, coughing all the time.

    3) Dehydration: This happens everyone, you need to keep your water up as you vape. It makes a big difference!

    4) Nicotine: if you are using very strong liquid, or vaping an awful lot it might just be too much nic that is irritating your throat/mouth. It's easy sometimes to chain vape. I get blinding headaches if I do this.

Thanks for your replies. Yes I put it down to giving up the cigs at the start but then when I tried it again straight away my throat hurt. I'm going to go back to the shop tomorrow and see if they have advise and I'm start back on Monday.
    What's pg and VG please?

Hi I feel your frustration ..I am a 7 year vapor .but I remember when I started I had the same
crap going on and I tried really hard to get it together as i was determined to give up cigs .
Here is some informative info for you ...

    www. ecigarette- politics. com/pg-sensitivity .html

I managed to get over the first two weeks with gentle hits and NO lung hits..gradually my throat became accustomed to the vapor ..you will see in the above link what is in cigs that stops you having throat problems..if I can help more let me know ..I am in Tralee i can post you down a juice er two but as I vape 80% Vegetable Glycol {VG} I would have to make a little something up for you that may be more tolerable in your transition ...
Hold Fast dont go back to Cigs
