    Hi there.
    I'm getting married March 2016. So far just hotel booked, church and priest.
    I've looked online at sites such as mrstobe. Weddingsonine and one fabday but just addled !!! :confused:
    I'm wondering if anyone would have any recommendations for the following:

    * photographer
    * florist
    * band
    * cake

    I'm based in North Cork and reception is on in Tralee

    Any reviews or insights would be great.

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hello and congrats on the engagement.. I am sure you will get lots of pointers here and help..

    Sure your mostly done now, with the main things booked.. Have'nt had my own yet but have been onto a few people already.

    A friend of mine used this lady for her photos and they were loverly not too pricey either https://www.facebook.com/beritalits?fref=ts think she caters to what you want.

    Flowers I am being biased here but that's cus I know she is good and very well priced https://www.facebook.com/flowersbychriss?fref=ts

    Note sure on the cake then suppose it comes down to what you like. I have got cakes from this lady TK's House of Cake oh they are great, and tasty and I don't eat cake..

    Bands again are all down to what you like, try calling into pubs etc to see what you like. you can go through the promotional places but just be prepared they know how to charge and most of the time it is mad what they charge. Also some of them say well it will be this band and then on the night it is different members of other bands. All grand if you aren't bothered but if you are going for a certain sound then... We have booked a great kinda trad rock band who are rocking I must say if you want their details

    Thanks so much for your reply. Been engaged since last Christmas so we have both decided to get our butts in gear!!!!!

    Thanks for the links!! I'll have a nice evening now researching!
    Ya popping into pubs etc is good idea.. I've emailed few bands already and couldn't get over pricing!!! One crowd were €2500!!! Our budget would be 1500 max for a band we loved. Looking for more of a pub gigging band than wedding band, but then again I know we should try cater for everyone at our wedding - from the teens to the older generations.

    Let the researching begin!!!

    Happy researching.. It can get all overwhelming after a while no matter how relaxed you are..

    The band thing is crazy alright..I was laughed at when I said max €1000 but one chap and got the same old but sure they have to get the instruments and sound gear, I was like mmm do ye not have that anyway.. The whole it has to be a wedding band is just a ploy, sure in the pubs they mostly play a good mix of music. It is just a good band..

    If you were looking into DJ's we got a price from the chap. We never got to see him in the end but he seems popular http://www.explosivedjmusic.ie/ he priced €500 me thinks for five hours... The videos are rubbish but I spoke to someone who saw him and they said he was good.

    Our photographer was Mark McGuire Photography from Kildare, he travels all over and was amazing,great eye and a sound lad.
    We got our cake from Cupcakes Galore in Limerick and it looked and tasted stunning.
    Our band were the Best Men who were brilliant but may be a bit out of budget for you and ive heard they may charge travel expenses (our wedding was local to them).

    I found the band and photography the hardest to choose as there are so many different packages, especially with photos.

    For photographer we used Lee Photography and I'd recommend her to anyone. We're based in Cork and she traveled from Tralee for us. Our photos are amazing and Catherine is such a nice person that we had a great time having the photos taken on the day as well. It was actually one of my favourite bits and I usually hate getting my photo taken!

    The band we have for our wedding in December is from Tralee - Renovator FB page is called Renovatortheband they are very lively and we saw them in the Oliver Plunkett - I would recommend going to see them

    Photographer we have is Ted Murphy, based in Carrigaline

    Kathryn Cashman from Conna was our photographer and I can't recommend her highly enough. Her stuff is amazing, so much so that we brought her to Paris to do an anniversary shoot with us.
