Recruitment agency stopped advertising job, what does it mean?

I applied for a job through a recruitment agency. They said they would put my C.V. forward. The job has disappeared from their website but I have noticed that it has popped up on other recruitment websites and actually with a recruiter that I would prefer to have advocating on my behalf.

Does that mean that the recruiter I went with no longer is able to submit candidates or...? Should I send my C.V. to the other recruiter?

The job may not be real. A lot of job adverts from recruiters are simply tricks to get your CV for their database.

Why don't you give the recruiter a ring?

If it was fake it probably wouldn't be on a few different small recruitment websites with slight differences.

I find it strange. I think it happened before with another recruitment agency they rejected my C.V. said the job had been filled but then the exact same job showed up on another recruitment website. :o

You give them too much credit. :pac:

Just ring them for an update. That's the only way you will get a real answer.

I sent them an email and now they have told me it is at interview stage and that I wasn't selected. Why would they say that it is at interview stage when these other recruiters have only just advertised the position and one of them is a leader in that particular field. Is there a chance that the client didn't get my C.V. ?

I'm going to send my C.V. to my preferred recruiter. Should I tell the other recruitment agency when I apply that I heard it had gone to interview stage. (?)

It's not unusual for companies to use multiple agencies. If you apply via the second agency they won't co consider you once they know you've already been submitted by the first
