I have 3 too. No interest in the game at all.

I've already sent one to /\/ollag, so have two spare as well. :)

    [edit]

    Just to add:
Please DO NOT post the codes directly to the thread, as people will glean them without you knowing. Only exchange the download codes via PM.

I've got 3 codes also if needed.

How are people getting more then one code? Are others just passing them on or has Nintendo given out 3 or multiple accounts? Never got one myself but Don't have a circle pad to control the camera and I remember how hard it was with MH3U, is this any better?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,120 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

It'd be controlled similarly. It's reasonably manageable when you get the hang of it.

Nintendo emailled some people out a code for themselves and three codes for friends.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 482 ✭✭souleater3000

Oh right. So you get 4 codes overall then? That explains all the code givaways on twitter

If you mean a north American one, you'll probably not have any luck here, as it's an Irish site.

So what did yis think of the game? I didn't think much of it myself I just hunted down the dinosaur and that was it, demo over? I believe it's a slow burner but I just can't see myself getting into it.

i found it difficult to control to be honest, and by that i mean having no c stick or circle pad pro for the camera, i picked the bow person and found it incredibly hard to aim with the touch d pad screen yolk, i quit and changed to a dude with a lance and a shield then i found it kinda hard to hit the dinosaur properly then. Im gona give it another go when i get me new 3ds. i like the idea of being able to hunt as a team with other people. im still kinda unsure about it to be honest. but i dont think its for me.

I thought that from the MH3 demo, but loved the proper game. Probably isn't for everyone, but it is a little bit more of a slow burner than the demo would suggest.

There's an MH3 thread buried in the games forum where Uberprinny Baal (I think that's the name, sorry but its been ages. He/she deserves a better memory than mine) held forth on the Tao of Monster Hunter. I for one went from huntersceptic to hunterhyped and now have a cave that smells of rich Jaggihide.

The demo is Mechanics. The game is so much more. Its like seeing the fat and muscle and bone and sinew that makes up Shakira's arse laid on a table, and judging it without ever seeing it in context.

Those scamps at Nintendo never email me these demos. Kind souls here have seen me right though. Doubt my kids would want to play this though sadly.

i remember playing phantasy star online about 13 years ago on the dreamcast some craic, monster hunter seems that kind of game aswell, id say when you get used to it its a lot better. hoping the new c stick will change my mind.

Capcom doing more damage with demo then good. MH3 demo was such a bad representation of actual game, I bet MH4 demo is doing the same thing.

Aaaah Shadowhearth. I seem to recall you were pretty persuasive in that thread too.

Yeah, its the same deal. They hit you with armour, equipment and a hunt. Nothing is earned and in the case of the Jaggi hunt you are practically invincible and the quarry has a big flag in its head map wise so nothing is on the line

I preordered this from amazon yesterday - never played a monster hunter game before either - but never really played bad capcom game.
If anyone has a code - i have a few days off work next week and would love to give it a go while i have decent time off!
    Many thanks

Thank you so much Star Lord... just downloaded and hunted my 1st monster.. I imagine they get a lot bigger & more impressive, pretty small chap to begin with....i have an Australian new 3ds that i got via uk importer via ebay just before christmas.. c stick works on the demo after you calibrate it..

So, gave this another shot last night on the new 3ds (i dont have a circle pad pro) I thought that it was much better this time round with the c stick i enjoyed it much more.

So just trying to get into to this with my impulse purchase of a 3ds xl, I've watched some guides and I'm slowly getting the hang of it, is there a proper thread where some vets of the series can answer questions for newbies like me?

To start with how important is it that I choose my main weapons early on? Can I make mistakes with gear upgrades that are unfixable? Should I research the exact gear progression I want to go for or just go with the flow and see what options I get?

These are just to begin with, I'm sure there will be many more to come

MH3 had a thread in /games that's worth a read but if you don't see an MH4 thread in there, start one. The only thing hunters like more than caving in a wyvern's skull is telling some else how to do it

I ended up buying the game but have no idea what i am doing.. trying to main the charge blade doing some quests but have no idea what i should be upgrading etc , played online with people too, that was fun tho
