    hi folks
    small query. im on paye and wife self employed in IT. her income 50k pa. should she give me her tax credits and also what expenses could she claim from her income. would she pay prsi and usc on her income. many thanks for any responses.

    Hmm eight questions in one. If you're wife has been self employed longer than a year she should know much of her side of the house. Her PRSI & USC is included in her assessment when she files her return. Expenses is basically all the stuff you would expect: basically any necessary expense she incurs in the course of operating her business.

    If your joint assessed you can take her credits but at that amount of income there's really no point as anything you don't pay by using the credits will be added to her assessment the following year.
