USC percentage back under Medical Card?

Hi there. I have been informed by my team leader/payroll manager that I can claim back half of my USC charges from last year because I held a Medical Card. Is this true and how do I go about claiming it back. My Medical Card expired on the last day of 2014 but apparently this will not affect and returns this year.

Also could someone please tell me if I would be due anything back from the following 3 forms of tax I am currently paying. Oh and any other information about anything else I can claim back.

I work 30 - 40 hours a week, renting and travel to work by car.

    Tax Paid
    Ee PRSI ctrb.
    USC Payable

If you contact Revenue with your medical card details they will put you on the lower rate USC for 2014 (or any year you held a full medical card).

It's not that you get back half, just your highest rate is reduced from 7% to 4% so your refund would be roughly 3% of any income you had over 16000.

On the other issues the only credit that sounds like it might apply is the rent tax credit which you are due if you've been renting since 2010 or longer. You can claim that on the PAYE Anytime service.

    Prsi is generally non-refundable.

Rang them earlier but I need my P60 which is not available yet.

In relation to the rent tax credit it won't let me apply for it on PAYE Anytime. Could this be due to the length of time I have been in employment?

Coming up to 4 years now but not in the same place so I have lived in 4 properties. Just past the 1 year mark in my current job. Previously I was on back to education allowance for 2 years while in college.

You can only apply for rent relief if you were renting in 2010

I was renting on my own during 2010. How or why is it blocked out on PAYE anytime?

You might have to retrospectively claim for 2010/11/12/13 so that it reflects that

Its blocked as a security measure for those who haven't previously claimed it as it's being phased out. You will have to manually claim it via forms rent1.

Can anyone tell me how to apply for uniform expenses in a retail job? I still haven't gotten my P60 but can I still apply without? Also can it be back dated from last year as I never claimed. Cheers

Also the OP can only claim back for 4 years now. So 2010 may be blocked on PAYE Anytime as it is now outside the 4-year limit.
