Has anybody any experience with cleaning a drive by wire throttle body? I moved the butterfly by hand and now fear I may have damaged the motor as the car won't start.

No cleaner just used a cloth. It was full of gunk. It's a Saab 93, piece of sh1t vectra model.

Wel if it's stuck full of gunk that should be your problem there is it closing fully. I'd buy a can of carb cleaner and spray it out open the buttery fly with your fingers and clean the inside of it to then it should start but normally they need the trottle body reset after being cleaned but that shouldn't stop it starting

It won't close fully, when I push it closed it springs open again. Just about 3mm. Do you know how it's reset? Does it need to be on a tech 2? Thanks for your help.

Does not have to be tech 2 most diagnostics can do it provided it's not just a code reader. Yeah it sounds like it needs to be reset alright
