MTV available in Ireland is MTV IRELAND the schedule with Big Brother on MTV+1 is the MTV UK feed... Viacom do not want to air the show in the Republic for some reason... The MTV schedule in Ireland varies from the UK at different from time to time.
The MTV channel in Irelsnd is badly edited at times often showing UK adverts which are not suitable for Ireland such as MTV Trax which is not available in Ireland and constant Channel 5 UK adverts

They may not be allowed, it all comes down to what their deal with Endemol says. Remember this is a licensed format we are talking about here.

Is MTV HD or MTV+1 blocked to Irish customers when they are showing it? I am assuming that they don't have Irish specific versions of these channels.

As far as I know, Channel 5 have the rights to Big Brother in the UK, unlike Channel 4 who had UK and Ireland rights.
If this is the case though, I dont understand why Endemol allow MTV to air it in Ireland on HD&+1, you'd think they'd make them block it out.

    Side Note:
TV3 were declined a deal to show this series in Ireland for €1 million. This was apparently as the show gets so many Irish viewers; but Irish viewers wouldn't even be measured.

MTV +1 and MTV HD are UK adverts. Irish ads on MTV

All are available in Ireland; and Big Brother isn't region blocked, just to clarify.

Promos aren't ads MTV are purely opting out ads do they replace Big Brother on MTV with another show?

TAM Ireland is controlled by the advert industry and the broadcasters that pay to be on the service. Viacom are one such broadcaster.

About 30 have a full list of programming stats available to them the rest are all counted but not public released, it's a limited set of stats broken down by hour but match up your schedule you'll get an estimate.

At the very least Viacom know the audience share of each of its channels in the Irish market.

Will be interesting to see if Channel 5 starts opt-outs here.
