Inset Stove has Bent Out of Shape

    Hi guys,

Just wanted to get some feedback on an inset stove that we had fitted less than two months ago. First up I want to say the fireplace guys have been great as today they came to look at some concerns we had, spotted the bends and removed the complete stove (have to say we're freezing today now without it). They couldn't have been more helpful.

    Anyways....

I noticed the stove had moved forward less than an inch in places and just asked them to take a look. I assumed it was normal with the casing expanding slightly with the heat. So they came a had a look and noticed the hole where the stove casing is attached to the stainless flue had bent in maybe 0.5 to 1 inch. I'm guessing there's a reducer attached there also to go from the 6" stove outlet to the 5" flue.

For all the world, to my untrained eyes, it looked as if the flue expanded and pushed the top of the stove in. I'm not saying that's what happened but it looks for all the world that something pushed the top of the stove in.

The fireplace guys took the stove out anyway and showed me. They said more than likely the supplier is going to say that we didn't use the vents correctly and so too much oxygen got in and the fire was too hot. I'm absolutely sure we didn't as it's pretty simple to follow - all open for a few minutes when the fire is lighting and then close bottom fully leaving the top to regulate a little bit of air.

Any ideas what could have caused this? Mainly for info and to get my head around....
