Looking for a good electrical car mechanic in Cork city.

2003 Vauxhall Astra 1.6L petrol, cuts out while driving. This issue has been going on for a few years but is now unmanageable.

The issue happens when the speedometer drops to zero while driving, but the car keeps going. But then when you slow down at a roundabout for example the car shudders and stalls. Then restarts no problem every time.

Car started showing engine management light and code P0335 crankshaft position sensor.

Got crankshaft sensor changed with timing belt and pump. Got crankshaft and tappets done as well as car was a bit noisy

Issue still ongoing, threw up error for EGR valve so main dealer replaced that.

Issue came back after a few weeks and went from happening once a week to once a month to a couple of times per journey.

They way it is now i cant sell it.....

Have you tried changing the Airflow Meter/ MAF Sensor. Won't show any faults, but with those symptoms it's possibly your cause.

    Common enough Opel fault.

    Have not done that yet?

Lots of info on UK forums but they always end up with replacing the ECU (costly) and no guarantee of it working.
