flint match thingy??

Got this from a friend who knows the kinda stuff I'm interested in.
Just wondering if any of ye know the correct name for it?
And for those who are curious to what it is, the cylinder is packed with wadding to hold lighter fluid. it also has a channel on the back made from flint I think, for striking the match.
The match itself has a metal striker, and also a bit of wadding for lighter fluid, basically, making it a reusable match.

So anyone use these? Or know where their supplied etc??

A lot of the reviews are turning me off but I see the reviewers giving out about the cheap manufacturing materials.
The only thing I'm hoping now is the face the 1 I have seems to be made of quality (ish) materials.
Is a bit weighty rather than light from skimping on metal during manufacture

I picked up one of these from going gear.com http://goinggear.com/butane-lighter-and-permanent-match-combo.html it's a gas lighter and reusable match together ideal as a backup or for everyday carry

So I got a bit of bull brand fluid in to the match.worked first time round and 2 or 3 times after.not sure wether to blame cheap fluid, or is it possible the wadding could be gone non absorbent?

I've filled or over filled mine had them in bags tool box for months and they still worked as I found them one had no fuel left but was still good enough for one light

Proper storm matches can be bought for less than €1 a pack and combined with a good fire steel and a tinderbox will do all you'd need. A few BIC lighters or a Zippo, fuel and spare flints and wick for good measure and a box or two of 'farmhouse' matches and I think everything else becomes a gimmick.

Zippo or Swan are best but shop around shouldn't be any more than €3

I'm like the challenge of knowing I have a firestarter of all kinds. just for the sake of feeling exposed with something that isn't guaranteed ... and also my fondness for knick knacks!!
