I was wondering if you could help me chums. After deciding I wanted to play wii games on my Wii U, I went out and got myself a third party sensor bar. It didn't work, it was wireless, so I returned it today and bought a discounted wii from cex with an official nintendo sensor bar on it. tried plugging it into the wii u, and it doesn't seem to work either, but when i plug it into the wii console it came with, everything works great? any help would be appreciated.

Make sure it's connected properly by pushing it all the way in until it clicks. Check to see if the infrared lights are working by taking a photo and they should show up,

Wireless sensor bars are just 2 ir emitters on a stick powered by battery. The cable just provides power. The fancy bit is in the controller. If you know that the bar is good, the wiimote is good, that leaves the port for powering the bar on the WiiU. But since the wireless bar had the same problem that suggests its something else (bearing in mind we didn't actually prove the wireless bar was good). Is the bar configured to be in the right place (top/bottom) on the WiiU? Are you using the same wiimote or testing the WiiU with the gamepad?

Yes the bar is in the right place. With the... wireless sensor, I used a white wiimote, with the wired one, its a black.

Have you synced the wiimote with the Wii U? If it works on the Wii without resyncing, then it's not synced with the Wii U.

No it was definitely synced. I tried again there, the wiimote worked with the buttons like, and the home button, but it just doesn't work with the sensor and what not.

That's a weird one try pointing the wiimote at the game pad and see does it work on that, it should as it has a sensor bar built in.

Happand a mate of mine before, the buttons were working but no pointer on screen, he fixed it by going into the sensitivity option for the wii pointer and by plugging out and plugging in the sensor bar while pointing the wiimote at the sensor bar untill the dots showed up.
