Dell Charging (130W) doesn't like Targus Port Replicator (90W)

    Greetingz Friends,

Any advice on this peculiar situation, I've a DELL XPS P31F and it comes with a 130W charger.

I recently got a port replicator (Targus ACP71EU), which seems to be also compatible with Dell Laptops, but when I connect it to charge the docked laptop, I get a warning both when booting the laptop, and also when the OS loads saying:

You are using a 90W adapter, you should use 130W, the system will be slow, battery life affected blah, blah.

    I am wondering:
    - is there a way to setup the docking station / port replicator to "push" 130W to my laptop?
    - if not, is there a way using 90W will affect the battery life of the laptop (I can't change it since it's embedded in the PC itself)

    Many thanks,
    Vlad

It wont affect the battery negatively, except that it will not charge as fast, and as a result it may cause the system to throttle itself back to allow for this when plugged in. Better off buying a genuine dell charger, not terribly expensive on Dell.ie the last I checked (that was a good while back however...).
