fitting and buying of new water tank
changing 4 old radiators out for new ones- straight swap.
adding a radiator to another room
    buying same 5 radiators
plumbing in a stove and moving and replacing the pump
pumping a sludge repellent thing into the radiator system
    plumbing in a dishwasher
putting in a power shower and buying that power shower

    what ye think?

Also beware, this sludge repellent your talking about should never be put into a system unless it's new or after being powerflushed first

Well a proper flush is 500
    New tank installed. 400 approx
4 rads. At least. 500(depending on size
My last stove install was 1700
    Power shower install. 600 +
Fit new rad maybe another 300
    New dishwasher fitted 100
    Totalling near 4k
So either he's cutting corners or is a REALLY good friend
