What are some great self help books to help develop social skills?

I was just wondering what are some great self help books to help me develop social skills because I do find it difficult with interpersonal skills, social skills etc..

I found How to Win Friends and Influence People to be terrific.

I know some people might not believe in self help books but any recommendations would be great.

    Thanks for your help.

Well the question is whether the social skills are lacking due to anxiety or lack of knowledge or what. If you don't know how to act in various situations then I suppose some sort of etiquette book would be appropriate; but if you are lacking in confidence, then you need something to overcome social anxiety or social phobia - there are some recommendations here.

Bear in mind, that reading about it is only the first step. The most important one is putting the new knowledge into action.

Probably more of a Soc > Personal Issues thread, but I'll leave it here for the moment, in case anyone has any brilliant ideas.

OP I'd really recommend a few books by an author, Pema Chondron. Check them out, maybe start with one of her earlier books 'when things fall apart'. I know u mentioned books for social skills but I think u may find these readings excellent if the issues are perhaps deeper than what's on the surface.

This one is very good. It focuses mostly on how you make others feel in your company and how to maximise the positive aspects of this. It's v common sense, so not cringeworthy like some self-help books can be!

You could always try some of the original self-help books: Letters from a Stoic by Seneca or Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. There is nothing old about these books; stoicism is the foundation and philosophy behind modern day cognitive behavioural therapy.
