    Hi,
does anyone have experience with S. G. Vitara?
Im looking at 05-06 year to buy. My lady wants something with higher position and good looking. Suzuki ticks both of boxes. Any particular problems of which i have to be aware?
    Thx

I dont have one but I know when I was selling my 1.9tdi skoda a guy came to buy it as he was selling his grand vitara same year etc because fuel economy was cruel on it. Had thought about buying one before but the side opening boot really annoyed me for some reason.

    Test drive one.

Drove a 06 one for a while last year, they are hard enough on fuel and are a pretty uncomfortable drive.

On the plus side, they look good and are cheaper than other options so it would depend on mileage etc.

Father in law has one, it's slow, noisy and thirsty.

I had a new one in 06. 4 Wheel drive model (5 door) Sold it in 07. The only car I could not live with for longer than that.

Fuel economy was really poor. Ride and comfort poor. Feel to everything poor. A few minor issues as well including the front electric driver window getting stuck and the high beam not always working added to the frustration. Boot is small as well.

On the plus side, high enough seating position and very good off-road (bog, floods and fields), As it had a low ratio box, it felt very confident in most conditions that would frighten the sh**e out of Santa Fe's, Sorentos, Xc90s etc. no matter how much they cost- (I've owned or driven a lot of them). Also, the price is fair enough for what you get but only for the 4x4 IMO.

To bad to hear that. Unfortunate that was one of few options on which we both agreed.
Ms wanted SantaFe at the start but I couldnt live with the look of that car.
As we both have problems with back, we are looking for something with higher seats.
We thought about a MPV but as we wont have any children that would be just paying for empty space.
Now I will have to convince her for A4 or similar.
