Will my item from amazon arrive faster than amazon says?

Hey, I ordered a video card from Amazon and chose two day delivery, it was shipped yesterday at 5:45 PM from Italy and just an hour ago it has arrived to Dublin Delivery Facility of DHL.

Amazon says however: "Expected delivery: Thursday, 15 January 2015 "
Yet package is already in Dublin delivery facility (And I live in Dublin)

Should I be expecting it today rather than on Thursday?
Kind of need to calculate my time to be home.

That's weird, status changed to "With delivery courier" , I thought they deliver after 9 AM?

Packages are distributed onto the vans before delivery services begin at 9. They could be on the van between 7am and 9am depending on the destination that the courier is delivering on that day.

I always find amazons delivery times to be fairly spot on. They usually arrive before the date for me. That's one of the reasons I use them again and again.

Now that I think about it, my two day delivery said deadline for delivery is thursday, I guess it's better to tell people it's gonna be on last day and receive it faster than tell them it's gonna be tomorrow and it arrives 2 days later.

Amazon ETAs dont work here I find. I tried prime for a month and it was still similar times and still variable.

Often faster when I get it sent to PM in Antrim. Usually gets to them in 36-48hrs and will be at my local Spar the same evening.

Yeah I am sitting impatiently now worried I wont get it today, I called DHL in morning to verify that it's in Ireland and they said Citywest area is delivered between 9:00-13:00, now it's 14:00 and still no sign of them. But then again, why would delivery man load it into van if he had no intention to deliver it today

Im waiting on an amazon order since friday(amazons ETA), picked super saver so Ive no idea where it is. Wish I'd tracked it now.

A delivery that was due this Friday, came Monday morning here.

Just to coat the spectrum.

Yeah, my suspicion is they're the holdup unless amazon fulfilled it from the continent instead of the UK.

Depends on your route. Personally I rarely get couriers this late so its gonna be tomorrow at the soonest.

Usually between 9am-6pm is when they deliver.

The next level up of shipping doesn't gaurentee you will get tracking either, or at least it didnt. Bought a €200 camera before and got the next level shipping and it wasnt tracked. Around the same time I bought a €30 video game on super saver and it was

Yeah, varies a fair bit. Especially if you use Marketplace vs Amazon themselves.

I ordered computer battery Dec 14th never arrived.. Item refunded.. Ordered one direction duvet on the 30 th of Dec for friends daughter.. They told me it had not arrived.. So I was wondering if anyone else is having issues with non delivered goods from Amazon.uk..

I've had several orders with them over the last few weeks. All of which have gone smoothly. Could be just down to bad luck.

The stuff you ordered, is it sold by Amazon or a third party? Also did the postman leave you a collection slip or anything? I've gone through parcel motel with all my deliveries and have had no bother, might be worth checking them out if you are ordering anything in the future.

Mine never showed. Amazon dispatched a replacement with tracking today, original assumed lost in the an post system.

First time in 4-5yrs that I've had an issue, order regularly.

I think you are right, Parcel Hotel is the way to go, both were sold by third party, I rang An Post and no sign of my orders..I like yourself never had problems with delivery previously.. So I was hoping items were delayed due to the time of year..but guess not..thanks again .

Update: My parcel arrived today. 2 weeks late so anyone waiting for items don't lose hope might still arrive..

First time customer of amazon.Ordered the 9th of Jan. Received dispatch notification on the 11th Jan. I was given an ETA of on 17-19 January for my order. No sign by the 20th. Online support were excellent. It arrived on the 21st Jan.
Small order, that fitted through the letter box. 2.5" hdd and a caddy.
Was expecting it sooner. No idea if the mail was still just slower because of the christmas.
